How can I upgrade from a source code release to an installer release?

You can upgrade from the source code releases to installer releases by following these instructions:

  1. You advise that if you are goini to perform this type of upgrade that you ensure that both the source and installer releases are of the same version of SSL-Explorer, if the versions are different you should first upgrade your source release before attempting this upgrade.

  2. Next run the installer and install SSL-Explorer to a separate location on the to the source code install. You do not need to go through the installation wizard so you can cancel this when the browser is launched.

  3. Once SSL-Explorer is installed copy over the contents of $SSLX_HOME/sslexplorer/db folder from the source version to the $SSLX_HOME/db folder of the installer version.

Now locate $SSLX_HOME/conf/ in the installer version and backup the wrapper.conf file to a safe location. Next, locate $SSLX_HOME/sslexplorer/conf in the source version and again copy all of it's contents to the $SSLX_HOME/conf folder in the installer version. Then copy the wrapper.conf file back to its original location overwriting same file copied from the source version.

Your settings will now have now been transferred.
It would be good practice not to remove your source installation until you are sure your settings have been transferred successfully.
